Walking for weight loss plateau?

Question by Nameless M: Walking for weight loss plateau? So I don't understand this whole plateau thing. Isn't weight loss about burning off more calories than you consume? I walk for hours a day and cut my eating habits but I haven't seen any changes at all even though I know I have a calorie deficit of quite a bit.
